No. 042 — Spring Edition
Living sculpture for restaurants, hotels and private commissions across Stockholm. Site-specific. Cut yesterday. Never a generic arrangement.
Two sisters
Founders, est. 2018
“A bouquet is a conversation between three flowers and the silence between them.”
Calyx is a two-sister atelier in Stockholm, working only with what is cut that morning at the market hall and pulled from growers we have worked with for years. We accept eleven commissions a week. The eleventh is a wedding.
Phalaenopsis, ranunculus, dusty miller — black ceramic, hand-thrown.
Last lavender of the season, fresh pine from the forest south of the city, dried sea holly. For a long Easter dinner.
A single colour study in blue-grey hyacinth, against pewter. Small, deliberate, smells like a memory.
Six arrangements, one a week, six weeks. We come on Sundays before service. Restaurants only.
A“I asked for ‘something the colour of a tired Sunday,’ and the next week they delivered. Three weeks later a guest is still talking about it.”
Private client — twice a year
M“We replaced our weekly florist after a year of slow argument. Calyx took six visits to rewrite what a restaurant smells like in spring.”
Restaurateur, Stockholm
J“They write a card for every commission, by hand, in iron-gall ink. I keep them in a drawer. The flowers are gone, the cards are not.”
Wedding — 14.vi.2024
E“Honest pricing, honest answers, and a willingness to say no. ‘That bloom isn’t in this week.’ I have, somehow, never been told that before.”
Easter table — ’24
We accept private and trade commissions on Mondays only. You write us about the room, the light, the meal, the person. We write back about what is cuttable that week. If a fit exists, we make a proposal in a single email. No portal, no calendar link.
